Communist Budapest Free Tour
Tour description
In this guided tour with a guide in Spanish, we will take an exciting trip to the Soviet past of the Hungarian capital, from the birth of the communist movement in 1918 until its fall.
We will learn how the regime was installed in the political system, education, culture, religion and even in the daily life of the Hungarians. We will learn who Carlos IV or Istán Tisza were and what they have to do with the so-called Chrysanthemum Revolution , a turning point in the history of Hungary. We will also know why this time is known as "red terror" or what is the Ugrofinesa theory , while we walk through emblematic places such as the National Museum, the Inner City Theater , the old radio building or the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus .
We will finish the free tour visiting Corvin köz , the most symbolic place of the 1956 revolution . During the Second World War, this city was one of the most powerful places of communism in Europe.
