Free Tour of the essentials of Rome
Tour description
We will begin our tour of the Eternal City with the majestic Roman Colosseum. We will talk about its construction, its beast fights, its naval battles or its famous gladiator fights. We will also talk about the Acus of Constantine, as well as the Arch of Titus or the Temple of Venus and Rome.
We will continue our journey along the Via dei Fori Imperiali , perhaps the most important road during the splendour of the Roman Empire. On both the right and left of the road, we will stop to tell the history, anecdotes and other curiosities of the most famous Emperors of Rome, such as Tiberius, Augustus, Caesar or Nero, among others. At the end of this road we will find ourselves in Piazza Venezia in front of the colossal and impressive Altar of the Fatherland , a stone mass covered in marble that gives us the feeling of being on Olympus with the gods.
We will ascend to the Piazza del Campidoglio , where we will find the City Hall of Rome, as well as other important buildings in this square, and the sculpture of the Emperor Marcus Aurelius. Behind the city hall we will look out onto the magnificent terrace that overlooks the Roman Forums and there we will tell more stories about its buildings and the anecdotes and curiosities of each of them.
We will enter the Jewish Quarter of Rome to see some Roman remains such as the Portico of Octavia and Largo de Torre Argentina , and continue until we finish with a great explanation of the Pantheon of Rome, a magnificent construction from the Augustan era.
