We had a fun time with Yuta on the bar hopping tour. Good conversation and lots of laughs too!
Very interesting recommendations for vintage shops and eating spots, Nana was very kind! Recommended!
We were in three different restaurants and tried dumplings, sushi,, omelette and sake. The good thing was that we were in typical local restaurants and the food quality was good. As the menu was most of the time in Japanese our guide tried her best to translate it and to showed us pictures to do the order. But it took a lot of time to ask everyone what he likes and what he doesn’t before during the order so the most easiest thing is if you eat all and trust your guide completely otherwise it takes ages to order . The tour isn’t that good for vegetarian as many restaurants don’t have vegetarian options. In the end it was a nice tour even if I was expecting more food to try.
Five stars across the board! Nana was engaging, informative and full of life. Such a brilliant way to see more of Tokyo outside of the main path. I learned so much about the neighborhood and Nana shared so many insider tips for those of us wanting to explore and shop. Couldn’t think of a better way to spend my afternoon.
Nana was an awesome guide and super helpful with questions and explaining the area and pointing out amazing shops. She even shared a map of the locations of needing to back track any after the tour.
Yuki took us around the whole place and show us incredible spots and unique shops. She was really nice and explained everything to us including other stuff from Tokio!
Nanna showed us around a really interesting area of Tokyo. It was great to get her insight on Japan and the Japanese culture. She took us to some very interesting shops and was friendly throughout our tour.
I had such a fun afternoon with Yuki! We visited many stores, she knows where to find just that one special thing, or that one sweater but cheaper than in other places. She also really tailored the tour to fit the individual wishes, for example we visited some shops i was interested in. At the end of the tour she even helped me make an appointment with a hairdresser and translate my wishes ❤️. Besides the thrifting, Yuki also explained some things on the history of the area. And while walking we discussed many things, for example how it is to study in Tokyo, but also how houses are built in Japan. Yuki is a really fun person to hang around with, so if you’re looking for a tour guide in Shimokitazawa, she’s your girl!
I loved the tour. It was excelente tour I took the tour with the guide Nana. She gave us a tour of this beautiful neighbourhood full of shops. Above all, there are many second-hand clothes shops, where if you find something you like, you can buy it. There are also other types of shops that Nana will show you around. It is interesting to see the history of the area after the Second World War and how an old onsen has been converted into a clothing shop (preserving the bathing area). She also recommended many places to eat, in fact, I ate a delicious curry in a very nice restaurant that she recommended. Nana is a very outgoing, friendly and knowledgeable guide who makes you feel like you are walking with a friend.
Our guide was kind and welcoming. She did a great job fitting the tour to the group's needs. Will recommend to friends and family.
20/10 recommend this tour to all visitors!! First I would like to compliment the guide, Nana, for her generosity in creating this tour and sharing her city. In this tour, you will see invaluable boutique shops displaying local artworks, and if you interested in clothing, music, food, anime-- she has endless recommendations for all the spots. Her engery was infectious despite arriving late & terrible weather (raining/snowing). I am absolutely blessed to have been on this tour as I now know a spendid neighborhood with hidden gems at every corner. There is so much more to explore of Tokyo than the grand sites!!
Apparently I was the first one that booked this tour so it’s a brand new route. It was very fun to explore a new area I’ve never heard about and our guide Nana was a wonderful and a very fun person.
Hana was a wonderful guide, for my first night in Tokyo it was a great introduction to Shinjuku. Tasty, local eating spots that I would never had discovered. As a solo traveller, nobody else booked but the tour still went ahead, so I pretty much got a private tour. Take this tour, you won't regret it !
What an amazing experience! I ended up being the only one who showed up to the tour, yet they still kept the tour going and there ended up being two guides! Aki was the one who I was with the entire time and he was absolutely wonderful. There was a second guide (Ichiro) who would meet us before and after the stops to make sure everything went smoothly and he was really great too. This tour company is the epitome of Japanese hospitality, just above and beyond service. My multi hour conversation with Aki will go down as a highlight of my trip to Tokyo, he made this tour amazing. Please don’t hesitate at all to sign up!
We loved this tour! Tomo was extremely personable and informative and picked great izakayas. We had a blast and highly recommend this tour and Tomo!
Great tour. Even the manager was super good, Ichiro took us to a great place after the tour for beers. He is a generous man.
The tour was amazing, so happy we where able to attend and learn more about what interests us in Tokyo. The food was great, areas we would have never found on our own, and Tomo was exceptional, don’t hesitate to book at tour, she knows the city/culture like the back of her hand.
We had a lot of fun and enjoyed going to local spots! We loved having conversations with Japanese locals and trying tasty food.
We would never have been able to find the amazing spots and order the traditional (and) trendy food Scott did for us on this tour on our own! Such a great experience, sake tasting, plum wine, whiskey, a traditional Izakaya stop and a hip food spot for seafood, tempera, even local horse meat if you wish!!! Scott explained traditions but kept the tour upbeat which made for a super fun three hours. Honestly, we’d do it again in a heartbeat!
Incredible guide!!!
We joined Kai’s Shinjuku tour and had a great experience. He combined history with insights into the Japanese lifestyle and answered all our questions. We loved the tour, highly recommend!
