1
Outside visit
Blue City
In the city of Jodhpur, a sea of boxy indigo houses stretches for more than 10 kilometers along the walls of the historic walled old city. A blue pigment coating on a house used to indicate that a Brahmin—the priests of the Indian caste system—dwelled there, but over time the color became a badge of identity for non-Brahmins, too. It’s also said to have insect-repelling abilities.
2
Outside visit
Clock Tower Road
The clock tower is a popular landmark in the old city. The vibrant Sardar Market is close to the tower, and narrow alleys lead from here to a bazaar selling vegetables, spices, Indian sweets, textiles, silver and handicrafts. It is a great place to ramble around at leisure.
3
Outside visit
Stepwell Café
The Stepwell Square is a panoramic, all encompassing mini-architectural tour in itself with the spectacularly proportioned Toorji Ka Jhalra at its epi-centre.
