Free walking tours in Chiang Mai

The walking tour was amazing! We got to visit 3 temples and the city inside the wall. Also learned about the history and understand more of this beautiful place. At the end Pailin recommended us some places to eat that were amazing also!!

Great tour! He took us to the local markets, where thai people actually eat and shop, so we got to see the real thai food. The food was delicious and the info was interesting. He's kind and speaks perfect English. Thanks for such a wonderful experience!

This tour was very informative and comprehensive. Pailin does a great job of showing you all the highlights of the city. We saw several lovely temples, one of which was not open to women for entering despite the fact that we had to pay 50 baht to enter the site. Unfortunate for the ladies but not the guide’s fault. The guide did a really good job of informing us about history as well as modern information about the city. I would recommend this tour for sure.

Magnificent trip on Chiang Mai old town, where you can hear about history of Thailand and Lanna, Thai culture, believes, customs and visit temples in old city. Great and profesional tour guide Pailin provided so many interesting information that we did not event notice when 3 hours gone. Highly recommend to everybody!!!

I've been to Thailand many times, but have never taken a waking tour. Thus tour was very informative and interesting. I was concerned about it being so hot, but still opted for a mid day tour. Our tour guide, Pailin, was amazing. She made sure we were always in the shade and able to hear everything she was saying. She wore a small microphone, which helped her voice carry. She is full of knowledge about Chiang Mai, as well as other parts of Thailand. The tour was 3hrs and 15 minutes, but the information she shared took all of that time. She also gave us plenty of time for pictures, as well as took some for us. Of course, she knew where the best shots were. I always look for free walking tours in every city I visit. This tour and Pailin did not disappoint! I highly recommend booking this. It's a great way to see the city and learn about it's history. Pailin is very kind, informative, and helpful! She also gave recommendations for food and markets!

This was seriously one of the best food tours I've done and I would highly, highly recommend this good tour for anyone looking to explore the food scene in Chiang Mai. Jakkrit / TJ was an awesome guide and made the tour very enjoyable and fun. I really liked that we went to a food market, had a small break checking out a local produce market and then went back to try some more food. My tummy was more than satisfied at the end. Please do yourself a favour and book this tour. I promise you will not regret it.

Reading the comments before I had more or less an understanding of what the tour is going to be like. As I am interested in Buddhism I was excited to have an ex monk lead the tour. We visited a few temples and got an overview of what monk's life looks like, watched the chanted meditation, got explanations about the details on the temples and on the inside too. However, I found often the speech hard to follow and understand, it was a bit monotonous. My previous experience has been with guides who are more enthusiastic and lively, with interesting stories and examples. This was more of an overview.

I really enjoyed talking to Pailin and learned a lot. It was information heavy at times and the microphone feedback made it difficult to hear her. But overall it was a good tour. She was super sweet and made sure our stops were generally in the shade and was very passionate about Chiang Mai.

The tour with Pailin was great and a perfect start for my days in Chiang Mai! We visited the most popular spots and Pailin shared helpful information about the city, culture and sights with us in an informative but also entertaining way! She also gave tips on activities and restaurants which were great! I am highly recommending the tour with her 😊

Wealth of information. However, there was a lot of standing around and we felt 3 hr was a bit too long with a few repetitive info.

Pailin is a wonderful tour guide, she is experienced, enthusiastic, and charismatic. Her English was a bit difficult to understand at first but got easier once we got used to it. She gives a great introduction to Chiang Mai and its history as well as the popular tourist activities and things to do. It was nice to walk through temples with her so she could provide context.

The tour gave great insights and was just fun. Totally recommendable

I enjoyed visiting the vegetable wholesalers and exploring the unique spots in Chinatown. The first market felt a bit touristy with common Thai dishes, but the tour improved as we progressed. The later stops had more interesting, local food, which I appreciated. Great job, well done!

Excellent tour , bit hard to hear at times as paulin kept playing with her microphone if she'd have left it , it was easier to hear , Excellent information, tried some lovely orgainic fruit and snacks , well worth going on walk , definitely recommend

We enjoyed our afternoon tour with Charin. He is a very knowledgeable guide, born in Chiang Mai with experience of being a monk. The tour has four main stops and really helps you to understand the layout of the old town, the history of the city and the lives and beliefs of the monks

It is walking touring from a cnx native. If u walked to the temples ground; there is no one to explain this n that. But wz this sampling walking guru, it helps a lot to understand and respect.
