Are you ready to discover the most artistic side of the city?
On this free tour we will enter the Valencian neighborhood of El Carmen to surprise you with the urban art that decorates its narrow streets. As we advance among murals and graffiti we will discover the most artistic side of the city.
Join us on the Free STREET ART tour and discover El Carmen, a neighborhood so varied that it is sometimes difficult to define.
Its history has its roots in the conquest of Valencia in the 13th century. El Carmen , full of inspiring nooks and crannies and labyrinthine alleys inherited from Islamic urban planning, is a monumental and museum-like district, but also a place of nightlife, urban art and avant-garde.
We will meet the most representative muralists and graffiti writers (Valencian, national and international) who have left their artistic mark on the El Carmen neighborhood and gift us with their ephemeral works .
How does graffiti come about? What is a tag ? We will learn to identify the different techniques : spray, paint, stickers, stencil, paste-up …
Urban art will be our inseparable companion, present in each of the streets we find along the way, surprising us with its colour, challenging us to reflect on its message, interacting with us and creating a totally unexpected creative dialogue.
After a two and a half hour tour of this open-air museum , we will end the free graffiti tour by saying goodbye near Plaza del Carmen.
