SPAIN FREE TOURS ® is a young, dynamic and expanding company. We are a team of tourism professionals and guides with extensive background in culture, history and art. We work every day from our headquarters in Valencia to become a reference in tour guides services in Spain.
Join us to discover the most essential things to do in Cartagena, a city full of history with vestiges of eras and styles so different that they will captivate you forever .
We will meet at the port of Cartagena , right in front of where the tourist boat docks. The first thing we will see is the port itself, a hallmark of the three-thousand-year-old city and the reason for its past and present wealth.
We will continue walking along the sea until we reach the Naval Museum area, where Isaac Peral's submarine prototype is located. From there we will walk to Plaza Héroes de Cavite , with its imposing obelisk that pays tribute to the fallen. We will walk to the City Hall square, with its masterful Palacio Consistorial , one of the jewels of modernism in the city.
Next, we will enter the historic center of the city towards its main monument: the Roman Theater . After this obligatory stop, we will continue walking towards the heart of the city, discovering some of the busiest places in this city, such as Plaza San Francisco , a key place for Cartagena's gastronomy and leisure.
From Plaza San Francisco we will access the Roman Forum neighborhood, where we will have the opportunity to climb up to Cerro del Molinete to enjoy both its views and the Archaeological Park located there.
From there, we go around the hill to access Santa Florentina Street, with its bakeries and famous churrería, which connects us with Calle Mayor de Cartagena , the heart of the city's historic center.
We finish our free tour of Cartagena next to one of the emblematic buildings of the city: the Gran Hotel .
We'll be waiting for you at the Plaza del Puerto de Cartagena (next to the Spanish flag). Remember to look for the orange umbrella - you'll see us right away when you arrive!
Free tours do not have a set price, instead, each person gives the guru at the end of the tour the amount that he or she considers appropriate (these usually range from €10 to $50 depending on satisfaction with the tour).
