We are waiting for you in the Plaza de Santa María, in front of the door of the Co-Cathedral , to start our free tour of the Monumental Complex of Cáceres. Did you know that it is considered one of the best preserved in all of Europe?
Follow our steps and we will tell you the history of the civilizations that at some point lived within its walls: Arabs, Christians, Jews... Their legacy still lives on in every corner.
Our steps will take us to marvelous palaces such as Golfines de Abajo, Carvajal, Toledo-Moctezuma (home to the daughter of the Aztec Emperor Moctezuma II) or the Palacio de Las Veletas (which houses the Cáceres Museum and the second largest cistern in the world).
Surely you have already had the opportunity to take many wonderful photographs, but what if we give your palate a treat? We will talk about typical dishes of Extremaduran cuisine : migas, chanfaina, Iberian ham... We will leave you with the best recommendations.
We will resume our path to reach the Plaza de San Jorge , one of the most charming squares in the city. Did you know that it has been the set of several filmings?
How many towers do you imagine we have in Cáceres? We are going to see many and very beautiful ones, but among all of them the most famous is the Torre de Bujaco ; It is not only an authentic symbol of the city, it is also a memory of the Andalusian period. Then we will cross the Plaza Mayor , surrounded by beautiful 16th century arcades, which today is the nerve center of the city, full of life, restaurants and people of all ages.
After a visit of approximately two and a half hours, we will end up next to the Arco de la Estrella , the most famous arch in the city.
