Theatrical Free Tour: from Madrid to hell
Tour description
The Holy Inquisition. Macabre murders. Ghosts hidden in the streets. A sculpture dedicated to the devil. Madrid is the cradle of sin. A mysterious character awaits you to get to know him in depth. Who is he? What is he doing here? Why have you responded to his call? If you dare to find out, you can find him when night falls in the Plaza de la Villa. Everything is under your responsibility: once you do, there is no turning back. Welcome to hell.
Night falls. A young man interested in the occult and witchcraft is waiting for you. He knows that you are curious and that you want to discover the evils that lurk in this city: the Holy Inquisition, the mysteries of the church of San Pedro el Viejo, the sculpture dedicated to Lucifer...
He is willing to tell you everything. In exchange, he only wants you to immerse yourself in his stories, perhaps to points from which you will not be able to return. You will witness the terrors that exist in every street and on every corner of Madrid… And perhaps you will become part of a small treatise that this humble scholar is writing.
You will begin your descent into hell in Plaza de la Villa , where a ghost emerged on a full moon night, and continue along Calle del Codo , witness to countless duels to the death next to the narrowest door in old Madrid. You will pass through Plaza del Conde de Miranda and its miraculous bibles on your way to Plaza del Cordón to learn about a story of palace intrigue and betrayal, ending up at the Church of San Pedro el Viejo , a sacred temple within whose walls hundreds of exorcisms have been performed.
Your steps will lead you to the Cárcel de la Villa , where many prisoners spent their last night before being executed in the Plaza Mayor, and then you will approach the Parish of San Ginés and the Joy Eslava Theatre , scenes of murders caused by unleashed passions and which generated sad injustices. You will walk along Calle del Arco del Triunfo or Callejón del Infierno, where a terrible fire occurred and murderous instincts were awakened, to finally head to the Palacio de Oñate along Calle Mayor , the place where an unsolved crime took place that has generated all kinds of suspicions and dark theories.
Do you dare to discover the hidden side of Madrid?
