Itinerary is as described. Andy is our guide & he is very friendly, knowledgeable & took good photos too. We enjoyed our walking tour around HCMC very much! Recommended!
Ethan was very friendly and accommodating throughout the tour, and none of this reflects on him personally. However, I was super disappointed, and the way the tours are managed genuinely soured my visit to Ho Chi Minh City. I booked two tours — a city tour and a food tour — and was constantly shuffled around because I was the only participant. I booked the city tour for 5 pm, only to be moved to 4 pm without any regard for my time. I rescheduled for the next morning at 9 am, and they still tried to change it again. For the food tour, I scheduled my booking for a 3 pm slot, only to be told they would need to reschedule me again since I was the only participant — otherwise I had to pay a minimum of $20. The issue isn’t the payment; I would have gladly paid. It was the way they demanded it that made me refuse. It felt like extortion, not a simple option. I agreed to move time slots to 6 pm and when I showed up, I was still the only participant. After providing my number for easier communication, I ended up being bombarded with WhatsApp calls and messages pushing me into different time slots. I later discovered that the same people (Dong/Vera) manage multiple tours, even when booked through completely different listings. At one point they even accused me of canceling and rescheduling when it was actually them, and only apologized after admitting they confused me with someone else. The chaos got so bad that I ended up canceling the city tour altogether. I then booked a “Top 5 Must-See Vietnam War Sites” tour — only to find out it was operated by the exact same group. By this point the constant pressure, calls, and manipulation made me feel harassed and unsafe. Tourists are here for only a few days — our time needs to be respected. Instead, the disorganization, aggressive communication, and repeated rescheduling turned what should have been enjoyable experiences into unnecessary stress. Overall, truly disappointing. I do not recommend taking any GuruWalk tour in Ho Chi Minh knowing that it might be operated but this shady group.
We really enjoyed our walking tour in Ho Chi Minh City. The route covered many of the key sights, and our guide though young was wonderful. They shared interesting stories and explained the significance of each stop in a way that was easy to follow. Since it ended up being just the two of us, we could walk at our own pace, ask questions, and take everything in. Overall, it was a great experience, and we would happily recommend it.
Excellent night of food tastings with Ethan. We tried so many different foods by sharing portions. Best food tour in Vietnam. I had no idea Saigon has so much to offer. Ethan is a great tour leader. So interesting and funny. Amazing English and he was so kind in taking us to fascinating areas and made sure we tried everything. He brings out the best in people. Such a joy to be taken around the city by him
