Free tours a Phnom Penh

Martin was very organized and informative. We only had one day in Phnom Penh, and we gladly spent seven hours with him on two tours: a city walking tour and a guided transfer visit to the Killing Fields and S21. It was our first time in the city, and my husband’s first time in Cambodia, which marked his 100th country. We learned so much about the history of Cambodia through him. He spoke English very well and answered all our questions. For the Killing Fields and S21 visit, Martin arranged for a comfortable mini bus ($5 per person) to take our group to both locations, with the option to drop us off at a place of our choice afterward. He also provided bottles of cold water for refreshments. By choosing to go with him, we saved $8 by not having to pay for the audio guide and gained a more in-depth understanding of a very dark chapter in Cambodian history.  Although it was very sad to witness the sites and learn this history, I believe it is a must-see when in Phnom Penh.

Having been on many walking tours around the world, I would highly recommend this one.

martin was absolutely incredible. we have done a lot of tours in our time and never have we had a guide who was so knowledgeable. i feel i have walked away with a much better understanding of cambodia.

Whenever we get to a new place, I always like to see of there is a Guru Walk available. So we have been on many, many walks. I have to say that Martin's tour was the VERY BEST we have ever experienced. His tour was informative, entertaining, and lots of fun! I learned a huge amount about the history, culture, art and religion of Phnom Penh, SE Asia, and Indo-China. We had stops where he introduced us to exotic street food that I would have never tried on my own, visited Buddhist temples, markets, and historic monuments. There was so much information, all delivered with great and friendly humour. We laughed a lot. Martin is a natural entertainer and guide. Truly a treat and highlight of our visit to this fabulous city.

Martin kept us informed prior to the tour and was an excellent guide. He was very knowledgeable and had a sense of humour too. This was our first Guruwalk tour and we were very pleased. Thank you!
