Soy hijo de la sexta generación nacido en Bokaap. Nuestra comunidad está formada por descendientes de esclavos y exiliados políticos del lejano oriente. Como guía registrado en Ciudad del Cabo, ofrezco free tours en Citybowl y Bokaap, donde comparto la historia y la cultura de nuestras comunidades con el mundo. Me encantaría mostrarte nuestro vecindario. Tengo una fuerte conexión con la comunidad en general. Soy director de la asociación de turismo de Bokaap y director de Bokaap Helpers Garden, que es una organización sin fines de lucro en la ciudad que se centra en la jardinería comunitaria. También tengo un conocimiento profundo de Robben Island, ya que viví allí durante más de 10 años.
It was an amazing tour of Bo Kap! I expect to see some colorful houses and artworks but I got to know so much more about the history and community of this place!!! I can 100% recommend this tour. 🥰 Thank you Ilyas for the hospitality and for sharing your love for the community with the world.
The tour was very informative and entertaining. Muhammad took us to areas of Bo-kaap we wouldn’t have seen if we didn’t do this tour. We got to try koe-sisters that were locally made and delicious! Highly recommend this tour!

It was a very extraordinary tour. Ilyas telled us so many informations about Bo-Kaap, its inhabitants and their history. We even got to try traditional Koesisters in his aunt's house.
