Konnichiwa! My name is Ryo. I graduated from Shinjuku Public High School, a 5-minute walk from Shinjuku station. I went to Waseda University, about a 30-minute walk from the same station. I used to live in Kabukicho town and worked for a movie production company located in the Shinjuku Ni-chome district. I have first-hand experience going to many of the establishments which we will discuss during the tour. Therefore, I consider myself to be a local. During the day, I am a cram schoolteacher, teaching English to high school graduate students.
During our tour, I will walk with you and guide you through famous spots in Shinjuku. I will let you see what is under the surface of these neon lights and discuss what real-life people are doing in these establishments.
This tour is going to be just like another friendly guy talking about local things. I would like my guests to enjoy the night to the full. So please be open-minded and not judgmental. I will present facts and not sugarcoat things. We have the good things and the bad. This tour is not recommended for children under the age of 18 nor people who get offended by talking about different sexual orientations..
As a local, I will do my best to honestly answer any question, whether it is political, religious, racial or sexual. There is no taboo in our intercultural communication. Blunt questions are welcome.
All foreign travelers are welcome. I am looking forward to seeing you in front of ALTA building.

Shinjuku Station
There is a big TV screen (Alta vision) across the street from the Shinjuku Station East exit. I will wait for you under that screen in front of the ALTA building, holding a sign that says, GURU. Also, the place is right next to Shinjuku terminal exit B13.
Free tours do not have a set price, instead, each person gives the guru at the end of the tour the amount that he or she considers appropriate (these usually range from €10 to $50 depending on satisfaction with the tour).
