Konnichiwa! I'm Ryo Takagi, your local guide! I was born and raised in Tokyo, and I have a special connection with Shinjuku. I graduated from Shinjuku Public High School, just a five-minute walk from Shinjuku Station, and then attended Waseda University, about a 30-minute walk from the station. I used to live in Kabukicho town and also worked for a film production company located in Shinjuku Ni-chome, Tokyo's famous LGBTQ+ district. I was a regular customer of many of the establishments we'll discuss during our tour, so I can share not only historical facts but also my own experiences and stories about the neighborhood. Currently, I work as a teacher at a cram school specializing in university entrance exam preparation, teaching both high school students and recent graduates. I'm looking forward to showing you the real Shinjuku beyond the typical tourist attractions. Let's explore the city together!
