Free Tour: Women in the History of France (Latin Quarter)
Tour description
This tour of the Latin Quarter has a dual purpose: not only will it guide you through some of the most iconic places in the area, but it will also allow you to discover the lives and legacies of exceptional women who have made history. From the tragic figure of Marie Antoinette, to the brilliant scientist Marie Curie, to the young heroine Joan of Arc, you will learn the stories of women who defied their time and left an indelible mark on Paris and the entire world.
To know where we are going, it is important to know and understand where we come from. Dacia Maraini, an Italian writer, said that: 'when women die, they die forever, condemned to the double end of flesh and oblivion'. We cannot do anything about flesh, but about oblivion... we still have a long way to go.
