LE MARAIS AND THE SECOND WORLD WAR
On this tour we will explore one of the oldest and most cosmopolitan districts in Paris, one of Europe's most cosmopolitan neighbourhoods: Le Marais, home to the largest Jewish community on the continent and the gay district of the French capital. Its imposing mansions and ancient streets, so full of life today, witnessed one of the most tragic pages in the history of humanity. We will pay special attention to how the Second World War and the Holocaust were experienced in Paris, as well as the role of the French Resistance and, above all, we will remember the importance of knowing our history as a tool for peace.
