You wouldn't expect to find a Spanish city on African soil with a historic military fortress, modernist architecture and a fusion of Mediterranean, European and African cultural heritage. An apprentice of Lluís Domenech called Enrique Nieto, who is credited with inspiring the city's collection of modernist buildings, and a legacy of curved buildings with natural motifs that can be seen in the city's Golden Triangle. Hello, my name is Patricia and I am an official guide of Melilla, a beautiful African city bathed by the Mediterranean. As a guide of Melilla I love to teach all interested travelers about its history, typical places and curiosities. Tour description

Discover the city's architecture, its multiculturalism and the Art Nouveau of the early 20th century.

Multiculturalism and modernism are two of the attractions of Melilla's culture that we can enjoy through its buildings.

The modernist route of Melilla runs through the city's expansion, the "Golden Triangle" area , so called because of the large number of modernist buildings there.

Starting from Plaza de España, it includes Avenida de Juan Carlos I Rey, the street of the Spanish Army. The Casa Melul, the Casa de los Cristales, the Casa Tortosa, the Aqueduct building, the Chamber of Commerce, the building of the newspaper “El Telegrama del Rif” and La Reconquista, are some of the most outstanding examples.
