Embark on a fascinating journey through the history of Melilla with this guided tour and discover the rich heritage of a city that has been inhabited for almost 3,000 years.
Our tour begins in the Plaza de los Aljibes , where we will meet to marvel at the imposing architecture of the Almacenes de las Peñuelas , currently part of the Museums of Melilla, these warehouses date back to the 18th century.
After visiting the spectacular Plaza de los Aljibes, we will delve into the Castilian history of the citadel from the Puerta de Santa Ana and its Gothic Chapel. During this visit we will immerse ourselves in the historical context and daily life of “Old Melilla” between the 16th and 18th centuries.
Then, from the Puerta de Santa Ana and the Chapel of Santiago , we will resume our historical walk through the halls of the Melilla Archaeology Museum, admiring the incredible military models of the citadel that will transport us to what life was like in Melilla between the 19th and 20th centuries.
We will continue our visit in the Plaza de Don Pedro de Estopiñan, where there are three points of great cultural interest: the Governor's House , the Ramada Chapel and the Royal Battery.
Finally, after skirting the Wall of Crosses and contemplating Cape Tres Forcas with the sea in the background, we will say goodbye at the Melilla Interpretation Centre inside the Torreón de las Cabras.
