Shopping tour through workshops of traditional artisans
Tour description
Dear travelers, what will we do on this VIP tour ? We will take you to discover the secrets of a Moroccan craftsman, a professional trade that is passed down from parents to children from generation to generation. We will teach you to recognize the quality of products as we Moroccans do. Then, we will buy in the artisans' workshops . That is, we will take you to see how they make with their delicate and prodigious hands the world-famous Moroccan crafts .
Remember that on this tour we teach you how to shop. You are not obliged to buy at the moment, if you don't want to. But you are obliged to enjoy :)
What will we see?
– Carpets
There are many varieties. The simplest form is the Kilim , woven mainly by rural Berber women in the Middle Atlas Mountains (Zemmour, Beni MGuild and Marmusha), the High Atlas such as Tazelnakth, in the Sahara, Alnif, the Haus plains (Tensif valley, Marrakech region) and in the Rif (Tetouan, Chaouen). They are made of thick wool or silk, following a pattern characteristic of each region.
- Furniture
Traditional furniture is usually made of cedar wood. The most typical furniture consists of tables, chairs, frames and doors finely decorated with brightly coloured paintings, carved or inlaid with metal, mother-of-pearl or bone.
– Textile Crafts
Production of Chilabas, Kaftans, Rif aprons , shawls to cover the head, scarves, hats such as the Fez or Tarbuch, the hendira (striped Berber blanket), bags, slippers, and even large tents. They are produced throughout the country, in many cases in rural or urban women's cooperatives.
The Chilabas of Ouezzane (Ouezzanía) are very famous.
Yallah! Don't miss this unique tour that will make you feel great and take you back to those childhood times when grandma or mom taught you how to make quality purchases.
Come on! We hope to see you soon!:)
