A Warm Welcome to Bucharest
Tour description
This tour is an introduction to the city of Bucharest, Romania and its people, you will get to learn the most important aspects of our history and culture. We will check out some of the best sites that the city has to offer, and we will see and hear about some of the best restaurants too, serving traditional Romanian food, yummy! This tour is quite light hearted, with lots of humor, but don't be fooled, you will get to learn a lot also, I promise :)
And our journey will begin in front of the National Library, where you will hear the legend of the city's founder and see the rock upon which he built the first church, more than 600 years ago. We will then take a 10 minute stroll alongside the main river of Bucharest on a beautiful promenade and the most chic place in town. That will take us directly to the Bucharest Fountains where we will have a stunning view of the Parliament building. Our path will then take us to the Old Town where you will hear a short history of Romania and see the Royal Court Church. I will also tell you about our delicious cuisine while visiting the oldest restaurant in the city. After that, we will go on to the French part of town and see a few of our best keept secrets, alongside the National Bank, where you will find out about a heist that took place in the communist era. Finally, we will end our journey in the University Square, one of the most important places to the 89' Revolution where I will be telling you all about communism in Romania.
