The Walled City (Old Town)/The Colonial Jewel
The capital of Panama is much more than a skyline of skyscrapers. Its old town, built by the Spanish in 1673, is one of the colonial jewels of the Pacific. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and we will tour its streets and some emblematic monuments. We will also walk along the bovedas promenade.
I invite you to join this free tour of 2 hours and a half through the historic center of Panama! where we will see the World Bridge, picturesque sites full of history and much more!
We will start from the Minor Basilica The Metropolitan Cathedral. Then we will go to the San Felipe de Neri Parish built in 1913, we will know its history and beauty. Nearby is La Plaza Bolivar and the San Francisco de Asís Church and the National Theater.
We will also go to Paseo de Las Bóvedas, one of the best routes. In the Plaza de Francia you will learn about the history of the Panama Canal.
On the tour you will learn about history, curious facts as well as architecture of the time and that is still preserved!
