Free walking tours in Tashkent

Our tour guide Don, was absolutely amazing! He engaged with everyone in the group, shared a wealth of interesting information, and brought the tour to life with his great sense of humor. Thanks to him, we had the pleasure of trying some delicious Uzbek food for the first time, which made the experience even more special. He also speaks English and Spanish fluently, making communication effortless. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Tashkent. An unforgettable experience!

This tour with Donat was brilliant. Entertaining and leaving you filled with a deeper understanding of Tashkent! Would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Tashkent. The bread making mid tour was also an added bonus with some very tasty freshly baked bread!

I enjoyed this tour. It was a bit different to other walking tours in that we spent a lot of time in the market rather than visiting many sights. In the market we learnt about the national dress, traditional furniture, uzbek weddings and wedding dresses and then we also went on to the food section and tried lots of different foods. It was all very interesting. Madina also seemed very happy to share details about her life.

Unique walking tour in Tashkent city

Interesting tour full of very detailed information. We took this tour late afternoon in October and unfortunately it got too dark to see some of the places and the metro was very busy. Good tour if you want detailed info about buildings, statues and metro stations which are now listed as World Heritage sites by UNESCO.

Donat gave us a brief overview of the history of Tashkent and Ouzbekistan. Then we visited few métro stations and went to Chosu market where we tasted some specialties and experienced making break. All this in a lively atmosphere.

Madina is great and provided a very good mix off historical facts and explanations about Tashkent's citizens daily life. I initially thought that 3 hours could be a little bit too much for a walking tour, but time flew by and it was perfectly adequate for everything she showed us. Loved the visit to the bazar, and if I return to Tashkent in the future, I'll repeat the tour.

I enjoyed this tour a lot! It was super interesting to get out of the city and see a more rural area. Javlon, the guide is a wonderful guide and will show you beautiful landscapes and help you get to know Uzbekistan a little better. Can definitely recommend this tour.

Just 4 of us on the tour today, so we got personal service. Donat was very informative. Took us to places we would never have found in our own. With added extras such as learning some Uzbekistan lingo, food tasting and we even has a go at bread making. I would highly recommend this tour and Don.

While the guide is still in training and there is some space for growth, it is a great option for getting an introduction to the city and Uzbekistan's 20th-century history through its monuments. Guide puts in a lot of effort into making the tour and answering all the questions. The tour itself is also highly customizable. At the end of the tour I was given a handmade gift (little bowl), which was very precious.

First class exceptional tour by a guide who will quickly become your friend and look after you. Javlon makes himself so easy to find at the meeting point and we left on a bus to a local village to experience culture unlike anything in Tashkent. He explained all about Uzbekistan the whole way there and we then walked around the market meeting the locals. On the way to the mountain and mosque we stopped to see the Russian helio solar complex in the distance which was an added bonus. The walk was so relaxed and peaceful and we ate apples, cherries and nuts from the trees and friendly locals encouraged us to pick the fruit from their gardens . Even a donkey knew javlon and their greeting was special to see. We stopped for lunch at the market and ate spinach, pumpkin and tender melt in the mouth beef shashlik and friendly diners wanted to practice their English with us and swop stories about our countries. We went back to Tashkent and we booked the city tour with him so we had 12 hours with the nicest, kindest man you can ever hope to meet. If you consider yourself a traveller who wants to experience something different for the day then this is the trip you don’t want to miss.

Really good tour, definitely in the top 5 I've ever done (and I've done quite a lot). It's well structured, with a good mix of modern and historical. Donat Is quick, witty and full of interesting information about Tashkent and Uzbekistan. He's well spoken and entertaining. I particularly loved the tasting part in the bazaar. The 3 hours flew by. 10/10, I would do it again if I were to visit Tashkent another time.
