Welcome to the oldest Madrid !

We will gradually discover the history of the city through anecdotes and legends that do not appear in history books. We will immerse ourselves in the old streets of a city full of curiosities and we will talk about its main protagonists.

The endogamy of the Austrias , ancient hygiene and medicine, the miracles of San Isidro , the macabre origin of certain sayings or the most famous thief in Madrid will be some of the main topics that we will cover on our tour.

We will cross the city of Madrid towards the old city prison and the Plaza Mayor, the site of official events, celebrations and torture, closely related to the Inquisition and its famous Black Legend. After this, we will be met by Luis Candelas , the murderous frenzy of Madrid residents in the 19th century and the oldest restaurant in the world.

We will talk about the origin of Madrid's gastronomy, the history of jealousy, blood, betrayal and death of the Austrians and the legends of Charles V and finally, the story of the curious Almudena and her Virgin, the tragic end of the architect of the Royal Palace and the miracle of the blood of Saint Pantaleon.
