Tour description

Mdina and Rabat, the most traditional Malta.

This tour is perfect for you to meet the most authentic Malta, full of history, traditions and surprises, The only free tour that permits you to get to know the marvellous medieval city of Mdina and the traditional town of Rabat.

Mdina is a dreamy city, conserved as if time had stopped itself forever in its roads and castles. So much so that here is where various productions for TV and Films have been shot to represent olden times and mythical worlds.
This is why we will begin by talking about the history of Malta and of the city, and of the life of its inhabitants, (who were they?, what did they use to do?) in medieval times, and the secrets and details that hide in the city, also visiting the most important places, including the filming areas of “Game of Thrones”, “Gladiator”... We will walk through the meandering roads, admiring the squares and we will look over the city walls, which offer one of the best views on our islands. The city is very small, so we will roam practically every corner.

After this visit to what used to be the most important city of the archipelago, we will continue through the town that was born around it, Rabat, which today remains a perfect example of the rural Maltese lifestyle and the charm of its traditional settlements. Streets with character and history, which help us discover a malta (which luckily) resists disappearing, We will walk through Rabat and we will speak of our Malta: the desserts, the inhabitants, the traditions and, overall the most beautiful corners. With this tour, we would like for you to get to know our history in the most pleasant way, our present in a sweet way and what makes this island so unique.

To finish off we will give you recommendations as to where to eat, what museums to visit or answer whichever question you may have, to ensure you have nothing worthy left unvisited in this area and its surroundings

Please if you are a group with more than 6 people, please contact us. We accept group bookings with more than 5 participants, with payment of a deposit of 10€ per person which allow us to keep maximum number of participants and a decent salary for the guide, for all the parties to be able to enjoy the experience:)

This is not a classic free tour, instead, you will be enjoying the tour with our licenced guides who have had adequate training, professionals who have, made guiding their life, their passion and their livehood.

Due to this, the suggested price per person starts from €10 to maintain all the tours with maximum quality and sustainable. If this makes you doubt joining, just look at our reviews!

Also, if you accompany this with our other free tours, you will be able to have a complete experience which enables you to learn everything you need to know about our islands.

In our schedule you can also find  “Discovering Valletta, UNESCO Capital”, where we focus on our history, while also learning about our gastronomy, main locations to shoot films or unique aspects of one of the most beautiful and interesting cities in the world (remember this is not only what we say, UNESCO says this!)

After visiting Valletta you may continue with our “Free tour of the Co-cathedral”, where we will be visiting one of the most stunning places in Malta, filled with art, including Caravaggios.

What we want is that you don't miss anything from these marvellous islands!

And for the most demanding, or for those who are looking for something more ‘exotic’, made for you or you would simply like to check more options, don't stop looking through our paid tours on our webpage which includes classic tours like the megalithic temples of Malta ( only ones in the world) or other uniques, such as ghost tours or cemetery visitors (not both at the same time, let's hope).

COVID-19 MEASURES We take all recommended safety and hygiene measures given by the sanitary authorities.
