Great authentic experience! From the booking moment we got immediately greeted by the hosts and several important information was shared (from location, how to get there, what to expect, dietary information, etc). Hence, on the day our arrival was smooth! It was very nice to know more about the hosts, the culture and specially learn how to cook some Indian dishes! We had no doubts Indian food secret is on the spices and the experience helped demystifying the complexity of the cooking process and assuring knowledge on how to mix spices is key - this as cooking was very simple/accessible but the outcome was amazing! Hosts also accommodated food restrictions on our side having non dairy milk replacement for the Masama Chai, very appreciated! Thank you for having us, the great time and little gifts! Will make sure to recommend to anyone visiting Delhi :)

Jatin is a good tour guide and this was an enjoyable two and a half hours for me revisiting ShahJahan’s capital which I haven’t explored for 30 years. It was a good walk at a reasonable pace through fascinating areas. I think it would be a 5 star tour for someone who had never been to Old Delhi before but for me there wasn’t much that was new except for the explanations. And that is the point of tours I believe since when you simply look you don’t necessarily understand what you are seeing. My only real concern was that I don’t think the guide could understand my Yorkshire accent which prevented some deeper conversations. Highly recommend

Roopak and his wife are wonderful hosts. The atmosphere was very warm and welcoming. We got fascinating insights into their life, and cooking together was a lot of fun. The meal at the end was absolutely delicious!

Die Tour durch Old Delhi mit Jatin war für uns ein echtes Highlight. Er hat uns viele besondere und authentische Eindrücke gezeigt, die wir alleine niemals entdeckt hätten – von kleinen lokalen Geschäften über die Menschen und das Leben auf den Straßen bis hin zu engen Gassen und versteckten Winkeln abseits der typischen Touristenrouten. Zwischendurch gab es auch eine kurze Rickshaw-Fahrt, die Spaß gemacht hat und gut zur Tour gepasst hat. Unterwegs konnten wir außerdem leckeres Street Food wie frisch zubereitete Samosas, Chai und Lassi probieren, was die Tour noch abwechslungsreicher gemacht hat. Jatin ist ein sehr freundlicher und herzlicher Guide, spricht sehr gutes Englisch und verfügt über viel Wissen über Old Delhi, seine Geschichte und das tägliche Leben vor Ort. Eine klare Empfehlung für alle, die Old Delhi authentisch erleben möchten! Danke Jatin! 🙏🏻

The walking tour was absolutely fantastic and easily one of the highlights of my trip. Even though I ended up being the only participant, Jatin still ran the tour and put so much care and energy into making it an unforgettable experience. He showed me Old Delhi from a truly gritty, authentic perspective that I never would have discovered on my own and he was incredibly open and happy to answer all of my questions along the way. I learned so much, felt completely immersed in the city, and came away with a much deeper understanding of the place. Hands down the best possible way to start exploring a new city.

Der Abend mit Roopak und seiner Familie war wirklich besonders und wirklich authentisch! Wir haben viel über Indien und den Hinduismus gelernt und auch praktisch erfahren können. This experience was really great! We did it on our first day in India and it was the best start! The things we learned there really helped us during our whole stay in India. The meals we prepared were also super delicious and the hosts were the best!!

If you are the type of person who loves to see how locals actually live and want to experience a taste of that in Delhi, than it’s very important you book this experience with Nidhi and Roopak!!! I am so thankful to Nidhi & Roopak for opening up their beautiful home so that foreign travelers can experience how an Indian family in Delhi lives within their home. As soon as I arrived I was greeted with a warm traditional Hindu welcome into a tranquil and peaceful home amidst a bustling city. Roopak was very communicative and helpful leading up to the experience and provided clear directions and instructions to ensure that getting to their home and enjoying the experience within their home was as accommodating as possible. He even was generous enough to give me a lift to the metro after the experience! There are hosts and there are “hostess with the mostess” as Perle Mesta (a Washington DC socialite) would say and this lovely couple is definitely the latter. I had a wonderful time chatting/ laughing with them both, making masala chai, and learning about their Hindu traditions. I felt completely safe as a female solo traveler and would recommend this experience to those traveling alone, as a family, with friends, or a couple. Do not miss out on this experience and don’t leave Delhi without meeting this lovely couple!

We cannot recommend Jatin highly enough! He was accommodating and flexible to our requests and clearly loves Delhi, this came across in his enthusiasm and knowledge of the city. We saw parts of Delhi that is unlikely we would have stumbled across on our own. He pointed out features that we would not have noticed and explained the history behind these. Roopak is a wonderful Guru - he provided an excellent experience for me, a female solo traveller. Roopak was incredibly informative on all components of Indian culture and history and explained several elements of Hindu religion in his home. Highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to further their understanding of Indian culture and experience a true home in Delhi.

They are going to cook a delicious meal with you (including dessert and tea), show their home and much more. They also give recommendations for your travel plans and help you, if you get problems.
