We had an incredible experience on the Golden Triangle Tour, and our time in Old Delhi was made truly unforgettable, thanks to our guide, Rahul. From the moment we began, his warm hospitality, extensive knowledge, and passion for history brought every corner of this vibrant city to life. Walking through the bustling lanes of Chandni Chowk, Rahul shared fascinating stories of Delhi's rich heritage, its architectural wonders, and hidden gems we would never have found on our own. His ability to blend historical facts with local anecdotes kept us engaged throughout the tour. His recommendations for street food were spot-on—delicious and authentic, giving us a true taste of Old Delhi's flavors. Rahul’s attention to detail, patience, and eagerness to answer every question made the experience educational and entertaining. His personable nature made us feel more like friends than tourists. The tour was expertly organized, with seamless transitions from monuments like the Jama Masjid to the bustling markets, and even a thrilling rickshaw ride.

Nidhi and Roopak welcomed us in their homes as if we were family members. Everything is well thought out, from the convenient metro station pickup, to the welcome process, the cooking phase, the fact that various maps are printed out to facilitate conversations. Nidhi and Roopak were didn’t only become friends in a short period of time, but they also provided us with invaluable information on India’s cultural heritage, the intricacies of Hinduism, and the current state of Indian society. I initially booked the Experience to have a way to spend an afternoon outside of the bustling Delhi streets, and I got a glimpse into the way of living and cooking of a family instead. It was a fantastic experience. Raj took us through the roots of New and Old Delhi. It was not a typical tour by taking us to famous sightseeing but untouched and unheard places of Delhi. This in itself was the best part! Raj took us to hidden gems for eatery and shopping which I would never be able to do it by myself. Raj explained us the entire itinerary in the beginning and was happy to accommodate our requests. Raj cleared exceeded our expectation in terms of the experience and would really recommend him to fellow travellers.

Last time I was in Delhi, I signed up for a cooking class through Airbnb experiences at a local family’s home. I was traveling for work but decided to stay a couple of extra days alone to explore. This tour attracted me because it was advertised both a cooking class and a cultural exchange where I would not only have the opportunity learn how to make authentic Indian dishes, they (and I) would be able to ask any questions to each other without judgement. I would also be able to experience the traditional ways of living of an Indian family. Roopak & Nidhi were so gracious and welcoming and following that experience, we have continued to keep in touch over the years including sharing information about our family’s travel and yoga pictures - given Nidhi is also a yoga fanatic. Since I knew I was returning to Delhi, I of course arranged to visit my extended family 🤗…and this time I also brought my mom and co worker! What a beautiful evening! This time, we shared the experience with a person touring from Kazakistan and the UK. We learned and laughed together and after cooking, sat around the table and enjoyed our delicious meal of Matar Paneer Masala (Peas & Cheese Curry), Kaddu ki Sabzi (Pumpkin Vegetable) and homemade Rotis (Flat Indian Bread). This was our final evening and meal in India and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

We had an afternoon tour on our day of arrival in Delhi. Rahul is one of the nicest guides you could wish for. He gave us a great tour in the old part of Delhi and introduced us to many delicious snacks in this area. It is our first time in India and it was great that we had a local with us who just felt like a friend. With lots of infos, recommendation and background stories. He is super calm, friendly, polite and we wish we could have someone like Rahul in every city during our trip through India.
