Tour description

This tour is an informative, breathe taking experience with English speaking Local Female Guides taking you through the famous historical and cultural sites of Buganda Kingdom, Kampala-Uganda Kampala is a vibrant city of approximately two million people by day and 1 million people by night. The city is on twenty-seven hills but was originally built on seven hills just like Rome. The hills were of historical, colonial, and religious importance. Kampala is a generally safe city with no hassle directed to tourists but like any major city, you are advised to take care of your belongings. You will start with the Stride Monument, situated between the Uganda Parliament Gardens and Kampala Serena Hotel. It was built in commemoration of Uganda hosting the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in 2007 and was unveiled by the Queen of England during the CHOGM summit. Next in line is the Independence Monument and downtown, the Old Taxi Park in Kampala has the biggest commuter public transport to most of the regions in Uganda. This crowd of vehicles and people is one of the highlights on your Kampala City Tour. One of Kampala's premier sights during the Kampala City Tour, will be the prominent Uganda National Mosque (widely known as the Gadaffi Mosque), begun by Idi Amin in 1972 but only completed in 2007 with a donation from Colonel Muammar Abu Minyar Gaddafi.
