This tour is a great way to start your visit to Tirana. Our guide gave us history and filled us in on what is happening today in Tirana and what is forecast to happen while walking us around and showing us the main sights in the city. Our guide’s good pace, interesting information (history, architecture etc), his ability to answer questions and to give recommendations for later all made the tour worthwhile. We learned a lot and the tour set a great foundation for the next couple of days we spent getting to know Tirana, a very interesting city!

Yelena is knowledgeable, speaks honestly, answers questions, and has a positive energy that she brings to her tour. Unsolicited, she sent me recommendations for the best way to drive to my next destination and responded right away when I asked her for restaurant recommendations in Kotor and Perast. Aleksander is a brilliant guide on all topics. He is an entertainer, an historian, a linguist, a philosopher, and he speaks honestly and from the heart. He is passionate and candid about his city and country and is the most knowledgeable guide we have ever had. Aleksander loves to answer questions and spends lots of time on the tour. You will learn a great deal about Skopje, North Macedonia, and Balkan history. We highly recommend Aleksander and his tour.
Katerina, a Sofia native, is an accomplished historian and teacher. She knows so much about her city, its history, and the history of the Balkan region and Sofia’s relation to it. Katerina’s tour is extremely well organized with stops that connect stories and history. She is passionate about her work and it shows. Katerina shared personal and family experiences with us which helped us to understand Sofia and its history so much more. She also made wonderful recommendations for things we could do in the city after our tour. Katerina’s tour is filled with information and hits all the landmarks of Sofia. Andrei is a local, born and raised in Braşov. He loves his city and knows a great deal about it and is passionate about sharing that. He is a former teacher so he is able to tell a great and interesting story and keep the dialogue and conversation going within the group while still making sure you see all the sites. He is able to share personal stories as well. And Andrei shared information about restaurants and coffee shops too (all wonderful). I highly recommend Andrei and this tour!
