Katerina, a Sofia native, is an accomplished historian and teacher. She knows so much about her city, its history, and the history of the Balkan region and Sofia’s relation to it. Katerina’s tour is extremely well organized with stops that connect stories and history. She is passionate about her work and it shows. Katerina shared personal and family experiences with us which helped us to understand Sofia and its history so much more. She also made wonderful recommendations for things we could do in the city after our tour. Katerina’s tour is filled with information and hits all the landmarks of Sofia. We highly recommend her and her tour!
Andrei is a local, born and raised in Braşov. He loves his city and knows a great deal about it and is passionate about sharing that. He is a former teacher so he is able to tell a great and interesting story and keep the dialogue and conversation going within the group while still making sure you see all the sites. He is able to share personal stories as well. And Andrei shared information about restaurants and coffee shops too (all wonderful). I highly recommend Andrei and this tour!
Tamar is warm and smart and she is very knowledgeable about Romanian history. She filled us with information and made sure all of our questions were answered. We had interesting conversations along the way and Tamar shared some of her experiences living in Bucharest as well as the experiences of some people she has met. Tamar structured her tour with a coffee break which was thoughtful. She was flexible about what we wanted to see and adapted the tour. Tamar is genuine and thoughtful and is an excellent tour guide and a lovely person. We highly recommend her and her tour.
Marina is a master teacher! She knows architecture, history, food, and secret hidden places around Zagreb that the big tours don’t take you to. She encourages questions and gives you genuine answers that become a conversation within the group. She shares her personal experiences having grown up in the former Yugoslavia. She is smart and quick and funny and warm and finds something for everyone. She even showed me a place where I could try gluten free local food. Marina followed up her tour, sending the group links to restaurants and other activities in Zagreb that she had mentioned. Marina is an excellent guide and we highly recommend her tour!
Touring with Primoz was like being in a fun college course. We learned about history, architecture, food (a highlight was going into the supermarket and learning which Yugoslav brands are still popular today). He made Ljubljana, in the Yugoslav times, come alive using personal stories. He knows everyone and we ran into several important Ljublianers he introduced us to, or pointed out, along the way. Primoz has a warm manner and a great sense of humor and a passion for his city. He talks the talk while you walk the walk. We highly recommend his tour!
