A fantastic tour from David around Oxford, exploring both the city itself (town) and the university campus and colleges (gown). Fascinating to learn about the interactions between the two, and often the friction that occurred between them throughout history. Would thoroughly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Oxford! David’s tour was really informative, interesting and fun, such a lot of information from a true Oxfordian with a real passion for his city, his love and knowledge of the places we visited was infectious. I live in Oxfordshire so visit Oxford fairly regularly, but my eyes were opened today, and I will certainly notice and appreciate the beauty of the buildings and monuments more from now on. You could tell right away that David was brimming with enthusiasm for Oxford, its architecture and its history! His breadth of knowledge was outstanding, always being able to answer any question we threw at him. His passion for Oxford and its history would not be able to be replicated through other tours, as he wove in personal anecdotes that could only be learned by being born and raised an Oxonian.
David was responsive when we messaged him before the tour. He was very welcoming. He was able to explain the spots very well and gave us some tips on where else we could go. He was also very patient in answering our questions.
