Hello, I am an Oxonian, being born, raised and educated in Oxford. I am a retired teacher, who loves showing people around my home city.
David is a super friendly and knowledgeable guide who really knows a lot about the local culture. He took the time to answer everyone’s questions in detail, and we really appreciated his effort. Thanks to him, we got to learn so much more about Oxford’s history and culture. Can’t wait to come back again!
It was very interesting and we made a nice picture around the history of the city. 100% recommandable. But we Just could pay by cash and I like pay by card... it is what it is. ;) Good luck David!!
David takes. Maximum of 5 visitors which means it was a private tour. We could have chosen to make the tour mostly about the university/academic side of Oxford or mainly shout the town and it's people and history, but we chose a mixture. David was extremely knowledgeable about the history of both fish and gown with references to things we might have heard of: inspector morse, football teams, famous people who had studied at all the colleges we went past, JRRTolkien, CSLewis, Lewis Carroll. He was happy for interaction conversation and questions along the way. It's a tour worth doing near at the start of a visit to Oxford as it points out lots of places you may want to come back and explore more fully, recommends places to eat, shop and get a good view. Thank you David for your time, we all enjoyed our visit.
David is outstanding—passionate and enthusiastic about his hometown, Oxford. He showcased the most fascinating places and shared an abundance of information. The experience felt far too short, even though it lasted over two hours. I highly recommend him without hesitation!
We do a lot of Guru walks, this one was of the best! If not the best!
