I had such a great time with Thabo!!! He knows so much about Soweto being a local, he made the tour interesting and despite the serious topic we had lots of fun! After the tour we had a beer and food together and talked even more! Absolutely recommend!
If you want to learn about the history of Soweto and South Africa, you want to do this tour! We learned so much and Thabo did a magnificent job of showing us around. Come with an empty stomach as the street food at Vikalazi street should NOT be missed.
If you only do one tour while in Jozi this should be it. Thabos is knowledgeable about the sad story of the Soweto students without being preachy. We visited all of the iconic sites and he gave us time to visit inside the Nelson Mandela home ( extra cost). He loves his work and it comes through during the entire tour. I highly recommend visiting Soweto with Thabos.
Thabo was a passionate and excellent guide. His knowledge about Soweto and it's history was very good and he made the tour very informative and enjoyable. We felt very safe throughout and he made some good local recommendations. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour and would highly recommend it for an authentic experience.
