Hi to all the tourists out there who are excited to get to know more about my hometown of Venice. I'm licensed tour guide, I've been doing walking tours for seven years, and I was born and raised in Venice.
Over this period, I have met people from many different cultures and had the chance to share some of Venice's most beautiful places and many of it's hidden secrets. I have enjoyed the experience so much, that I have earned over 250 5-star reviews on TripAdvisor for my tours in Venice.
The best tour of Venice! Francesco was an eccellent guide, able to entertain Is for 3 hours, very friendly and competent . We visited the Ghetto and other hidden treasures of Venice, far from the crowd. An unforgettable experience that we suggest to everyboby! Thanks Francesco!
Fantastic- excellent tour and guide
Francesco was a fantastic guide! He gave us new perspective of Venice with a lot of interesting information about the history, culture and art, wrapped into interactive session full of jokes and fun facts. He is the real guru sharing facts in a very comprehendive way, making you think and by comparing with other impotant historical events to get the bigger picture Venice through the history. He is a local who really knows the city into the smallest streets. We even took a short gondola trip as a part of our tour to cross Gran canal. We learnt a lot about the first Jewish ghetto and saw the largest oil on canvas painting in a church. This was one of the best tours I had and for sure the best one in Venice. I highly recommend this tour by Francesco!
You will learn a lot about the Jews, the true history of the masks of Venice, the cities jaded past (prostitution), see some original buildings with the exposed wooden beams the first casino & pawn brokers in the world. The hidden gems ALONG WITH the main attractions would have been more enjoyable. The tour could easily have been 90 mins, or 2 hours while including the more touristic areas. The pace was too slow, the tour guide lacked enthusiasm or energy. His knowledge was fantastic but more of a lecturer than a teacher. The mini gondola ride was a delight but pre warning re the extra €2 would have been better.
