My name is Thomas and I am from Denmark
I make guided tours because I can’t help it. Being a guide is not a job it’s a lifestyle.
I have been a tour guide since 2005 in many places in the world but my first destination was actually Sao Miguel. I fell instantly in love and decided back then that I would be back here someday.
Since then I have been doing free tours in Copenhagen, Madrid, Hamburg, Prague, and Aarhus. But now I’m back and call the Azores home.
We were disappointed that Thomas cancelled the tour after we arrived as he said he needed three people and we were only two. We’ve taken many tours where no one else showed up and they were never cancelled. Also, even though no one else signed up Thomas didn’t cancel in advance which means we planned our day around the tour and lost time on our vacation because of that.
In just two hours, we learned so much about Ponta Delgada. Thank you, Thomas, for an informative and entertaining tour.
We met Thomas at assigned time and he informed us we were the only two persons to sign up and he usually has a rule a minimum of three people. This was the only day we were able to take this tour. Thomas agreed to take us on the tour. We certainly had our own personal tour guide and he was excellent. We had arrived two days earlier so had lots of questions and he was able to answer them. A history enthusiast, he was able to give us so much knowledge of the Azores, Porta Delgada and the Portuguese people. Gave us hints about good restaurants and ideas of things to see and do. Highly recommend the tour.
Thomas is very interesting and has a lot of anecdotes to share. I recommend the tour.
