Michael's uncle (who is still alive today) was the neighbour of Nelson Mandela when he spent nearly 7 years in the jail cell right next door to him, between 1972 and 1979, as a political prisoner on Robben Island.
For more about this, you may want to book our "Robben Island Untold" walking tour. For further information regarding his topic w also have the "Oppression and Apartheid to Liberation and Corruption" walking tour.
Our tour of the Cape Castle was fantastic. Michael was very knowledgeable and passionate about the history of the Cape.
Super tour and guide. 100% recommend it.
Michael was deeply knowledgeable about South African history. He shared invaluable personal memories from the near past. Totally recommend this authentic experience.
We thoroughly enjoyed the 1700 vibrant walking tour of the Bo Kaap area of Cape Town. Brigit was a very passionate, informative guide as she explained the history of the people living in the area in these amazing brightly coloured houses nestled in the upper area of town. Walking along the windy cobble stone streets amongst the locals you could smell the food and had the opportunity to buy some if you wished. I would thoroughly recommend this tour. We also visited the little museum in the first house built in Wale St prior to the tour so got to see how the large extended family would have lived in a traditional home and learnt about the history of the people lives and where they came from..
