Hey there! I'm Marko, a local of Dubrovnik. I live inside the Old town (only 1000 people actually do!) so I consider myself privileged. I can't wait to show you around - this is my hometown, I grew up here and I know it inside out. I have a degree in journalism and public relations. So, when you go on a walk with me, you will be my public and I will be relating the history of my city!
I learned a lot about the Old Town Walls and Dubrovnik itself. It is worth taking this tour if you wish to take something from the experience of walking the Wall. Marko was amazing and he really knows his stuff. This combination of guided tour at the start and self-exploration for the rest works very well for this site since most of the historical tidbits are in the first half. Tip: Listen. Marko made walking the walls a fun and an interesting experience testing me and my wife against our grown up kids as the tour progressed ,questions like how many canons ,how long had the city walls had been operating .There were many more but I have forgotten the hard facts .The most important fact was that we all had a good time and learnt the importance of the city in the pass and the canniness of its leaders. We did the tour in the late afternoon when the temperature was more bearable. Mark
