Hello travelers! Welcome to San Jose! My name is Jules. I was born here in Costa Rica and raised in the United States. Experiencing both cultures has deeply broadened my perspectives of the world in a meaningful way.
With more than 15 years of living in Costa Rica, I can truly say I have adopted the “Pura Vida” lifestyle – from excursions deep into the jungle to experiencing the music and food unique to the country. And as an avid reader and cultural buff, it’s been a fascinating journey to learn about the history that surrounds this amazing city. It will be my pleasure to be your guide!
Let me share the stories that can open your eyes to the wonders that are in front of you as we take a journey from the past and see things in the present in a fresh way as we walk through history and its ties to the present – and beyond!
This tour is tips based – so just know your tour is incentivized for the highest quality and enjoyment! The idea is to provide you with more than just a standard walking tour. I was an ESL teacher for many years so I know the value of keeping a group engaged and interested.
Jules made the five hour experience informative and extremely pleasant. Besides the interesting sites and knowledge he presented, he personalized the tour with a picnic and stop for smoothies and coconut. It was a very special tour which I recommend.
It was a great tour to explore San Jose and learn a lot about the history of Costa Rica. We got to try out different food and a coconut or smoothie. Jules was an amazing guide, who knew a lot and how to present it. We were only 8 people in the group which helped to stay focused and hear everything Jules explained.
This was a great intro to Costa Rica on my first morning in the country. While visiting the sites, I learned some interesting history, fun facts, and useful tips that I shared with the rest of my traveling companions, who arrived later, throughout our trip. Since it rained on and off, Jules made minor adjustments to keep us sheltered during the worst of it, and also provided local treats for info and our well-being/energy level. Even after the tour, Jules took the group back to one of the places he recommended for lunch.
Jules is an amazing guide :) very knowledgeable and well prepared. San Jose opened for us from a new perspective thanks to Jules. The tour is 10/10, totally recommend when in town 😎👌🏼
