I’m an archaeologist by profession and have been a certified tour guide for several years. I decided to move away from institutional archaeology and dedicate myself to sharing and communicating history, with a particular focus on Oaxaca, my hometown. Rather than comparing Oaxaca with other destinations, I enjoy showing visitors why they can have such an amazing experience in my city and its surroundings, while always appreciating the many other wonderful places Mexico has to offer. Whenever people are interested, I also love talking about Oaxaca’s history, culture, and society. Its incredible antiquity and diversity make it a fascinating place to explore, and there is always another story, tradition, or perspective to discover. More than anything, I want people to leave Oaxaca with the feeling that they have only scratched the surface—and with a desire to come back and discover even more of this wonderful city.
