You will leave the tour feeling like a citizen of the Spanish quarters, and you will have avoided the classic tours that push you towards a version of the city that has been "manufactured" for tourists and profit. In addition to the amazing encounters with artisans, we had enlightening discussions with Emanuele about the history of the city, as well as its current situation, which left us thinking even after the tour was finished. I kind of knew what to expect from reading former reviews, but I was still amazed by how much information Emanuele managed to pack into 3 hours, without it ever feeling repetitative or being overwhelmed by the information. I guess I agree in a lot of ways with his critiques and being from Vienna I know what it means to live somewhere that has adapted to tourism completely. I enjoyed the walk immensely, and would recommend it to anyone that loves having context as well as insights and engaging with the multifaceted structure of society as a whole and Napoli in particular.
