3 hour walk around historic parts of Athens with Michael who was knowledgeable about the area and the history. His background as an archeologist obviously helps him in explaining the history and current position of the various ruins.

Excellent and very informative tour

Michael was a great guide and is clearly very passionate about what he is talking about. He continued chatting with individuals when we were walking from sight to sight, about whatever they wanted or were interested in. I have done many guruwalks all over Europe and Michael’s tour was my favourite - it’s very hard to keep people engaged for 3 hours im the hot Green sun! He also made a great recommendation for lunch (bonus points).

We did this walk on a sunny Saturday morning after we met Michael at the prearranged meeting point close to Thiseio station. After quick introductions and the opportunity to grab a coffee or use the toilet facilities we started off on a three hour wander around the historical sites of Athens. Stops included the library, a current excavation site, the parliament building to watch the changing of the guard, the cathedral and city gates before ending close to the entrance to the Acropolis. This tour, conducted in excellent English was paced well, never felt rushed and was very informative. Thank you Michael for entertaining and educating us for a few hours whilst showing us around your current home city.

He was so passionate about showing us around his city and we will definitely do this again when we are back!!!! Do this tour instead of any commerical ones!!!

Our guide Regena was really good at her job. She is knowledgable and managed to give the details about the places we visited, about Greece and couple of easy native words. She was courteous to follow up on us incase we were lost in the crowd or slow. Overall, we enjoyed the walk and the itinerary.
