Essential Free walking tours of Athens

I had the pleasure of a tour with Elena this morning (February 11th, 2025). She was on time, easy to find, and very friendly. We were all greeted by name, and engaged in conversation immediately. Elena is very knowledgable about a city she clearly loves. She is not afraid of questions and gives great answers! Obviously a very well-read, and accomplished, woman she had plenty to say about Art, architecture, theatre, poetry, and books. It was no surprise to learn that she has a background in Theatre and is also a published author (her third book was published last year). Immediately, of course, she was able to direct this bibliophile to the nearest book shop with a large English-language section. I enjoyed this tour so much that I will take it again next month, when I returnt to Athens with my daughter.

Excellent way to get your bearings and work out what you should take more time to visit.
