Free Walking Tours through Old Zadar

Dejan was very informative and engaging throughout the tour. We learnt quite a bit about the history of Zadar. Highly recommend Dejan for future walking tours. Additionally, he was also very kind to share useful tips about places to visit and eat around Croatia!

Had a great time discovering Zadar with Dejan. Great history knowledge and entertaining. Very patient and gave us a lot of information on other activities to do while in Croatia. Recommend.

it was a really good walk and I enjoyed all of the historical information and relations to past and present. Good jokes.

Dejan provided lots of information over 2.5 hours and also added some personal stories and perspectives which added to the tour. Dejan has a good sense of humour. The actual distance walked was relatively short and there were lots of stops so a very easy walk if you have any mobility issues.

We had an excellent tour with Lidija, who was outstanding throughout. She was highly engaged and made the experience both informative and enjoyable. We learned so much about the fascinating history of Zadar and genuinely enjoyed her lively way of sharing it, including a few delightful side interactions with our Portuguese fellow visitors. The tour ended beautifully at the Sea Organ, rounding off a truly excellent experience.

Very informative

Dejan has a deep understanding of the history of Croatia and shares it fully. Think history lesson with some clever sarcasm thrown in. It's been a long time since I laughed as much as I did on this tour with Dejan. Our tour started at 7pm and ended at the Sea Wall where we stayed and watched the sun set. Thanks for the great tour!

Dejan was great, very knowledgeable, very informative and fun the tour.

Dejan is extremely knowledgeable regarding the history of the area. He took us into the back of a gift shop, the back of a bar…places we would never have found on our own. And he helped us understand a few spots we had seen but didn’t know what they were about. We were in a group of 4 so it was always possible for my hard-of-hearing husband to get close enough to hear him. He was genuinely interested in his guests and was able to weave in some parallels relating to our own experiences. We ended up with sunset at the sea organ. Wow!

Very well conducted and very knowledgeable

We loved the walking tour! Dejan took us to places which we’d walked past multiple times and never thought to look at or notice. He has also lived in other parts of Croatia so gave us lots of tips on other places and sent us some very useful recommendations on WhatsApp for various places in Croatia. Dejan also told us some very entertaining anecdotes and unique facts which we’d have never learned if we hadn’t gone on his tour. He also seemed genuinely interested in the people who attended the tour and asked us lots of personal questions about our countries and trip etc. We truly loved it and would recommend to anybody who wants to explore Zadar’s old town - thank you, Dejan!

Excellent, very informative and knew all the questions we asked him

Informative tour, as long or as short as you need it to be, lots of history, if that’s your thing, and that explains a lot about the city as it is today. Personally I like more modern history and particularly enjoyed hearing about Dejan’s actual family and how they ended up where they are today. My group was fairly elderly so a lot couldn’t walk that long in the sun

Very interesting 2.5 hour walk through Zadar. Dejan tries to recap 4000+ years of Croatia in an interesting way. We went to some special places that most people would never find. Dejan knows his history. We ended at the Sundial and sea organ for the sunset. Very enjoyable afternoon.

Dejan obviously loves his city. He is very knowledgeable and made the tour very interesting. I can highly recommend it. A beautiful, historical city. Zadar is small, not too much walking.
