Tour description

Samarkand represents 2,750 years of history. I invite you to the journey including all main historical and local sights. The journey starts with Guri Emir mausoleum and continues as the order given on the list:

  1. Guri Emir Mausoleum (XV) -Ensemble associated with the name of Prince Muhammad Sultan, Tamerlane's grandson and heir. In 1403, due to the sudden death of Muhammad Sultan, Amir Temur ordered the construction of the mausoleum which was completed by 1405.
  2. Registan square (XV-XVII) - Registan is recognized as "the light of the world" as poets used to call it. The word "Registan" means "sandy place" in persian. The Ensemble includes Ulugbek Madrasah, Sherdor Madrasah and Tylla Kari Mosque.
  3. Bibi Khanum mosque (XV) - By order of Amir Timur in 1399, after his campaign to India, a new cathedral mosque was started to be built.
