Lapa: Roads of Bohemian Carioca
Tour description
We start our tour at 3:00 pm in front of the Municipal Theater in the famous Cinelândia Square. In the square we will see the iconic theaters that made the place famous as Broadway Carioca in the 1940s. Places visited: Odeón Cinema, Rival Theater, Palacio Cinema and Amarelinho bar. We will continue walking along the street where the first public park in South America was opened and takes us directly to Lapa, the cradle of Carioca bohemia. In this unique neighborhood, we will visit the main tourist attractions to take photos: Escadaria Selaron and Arcos da Lapa. We will also meet important characters who made this neighborhood the icon of marginal and popular art: La "malandragem" carioca.
We will also visit the Altar erected for the Afro-Brazilian entity Zé pilintra, guardian of nightlife and pleasures. We will visit other important cultural points of the city: Circo Voador, Fundição Progresso and the most famous carnival club in Rio Bola Preta.
We finish our tour at Praça Tiradentes, which also houses the Teatro João Caetano, which is one of the oldest buildings in the city, and we finish at Casa Cavé, the oldest confectionery in the city where you can try the famous brigadeiro.
