We begin the visit next to the sculpture of Miguel de Cervantes, in the Plaza de la Universidad . It is said that our famous writer witnessed an unsolved crime. Then, under the Church of Santa María de la Antigua, in its old cemetery, we will tell the legend of the Bronze Christ.
We will pass by the Casa de Zorrilla , home of the romantic playwright José Zorrilla, and where the ghost of his grandmother Nicolasa still roams. Afterwards, we will come across the Plaza de San Pablo and the Palacio Pimentel, where one of the most curious and popular stories of Valladolid takes place.
On the way, we will see the Plaza del Viejo Coso , the first bullring that the city had, as well as the Palace of the Marquises of Valverde , and the Palace of Fabio Nelli , inside which "El Sillón del Diablo" is preserved.
Next to Calle del Doctor Cazalla, we continue next to the Monastery of San Benito el Rea l. It was home to the Cristo de la Cepa, a peculiar figure carved from a vine to which many miracles are attributed.
We will end our tour in the Plaza Mayor , a great setting for autos-da-fé during the times of the Holy Inquisition.
