This tour of the MOMA highlights the greatest hits while looking at the evolution of modern art from 1900 to now!

The Museum of Modern Art in New York is one of the city’s prized art institutions. Founded in the 1940s, by the Rockefellers and other New York socialites, the museum showcased in its beginnings some of the world's greatest modern artists including Vincent Van Gogh, Salvador Dali and Picasso. Today the museums collection focuses on art from the early 20th century to the present day and on American and European artists as well as international artists.
The museum's 6 floors feature a collection spanning from 1890 to today. With its two restaurants, bookstore, gift shop and courtyard it’s a bit like a shopping mall. This tour will allow you to navigate the museum with ease and see the major highlights of the museum with in depth explanations all under two hours.
We will start with the museum's greatest hits from post-Impressionism with Van Gogh's ¨Starry Night¨, and move to Picasso's cubist breakthrough ¨Demoiselles d'Avignon¨. From there we will follow the history of the major modern art movements in the 20th century surrealism - Dali, abstract expressionism - Jackson Pollock and pop art - Andy Warhol.

The tour does not include museum admission, adults $30. Please DM for more information on museum ticket discounts. The museum offers discounts for seniors $22, people with disabilities $22 and students $17. Children are free. The museum is also free for New York City students. Certain travel passes also include MOMA admission or discounts like City Pass.
