Tour description
We will take a trip back in time , exploring fascinating places and meeting characters who have left an indelible mark on the history of our city.
We will begin our tour at the origins of Barcelona: the ancient Barcino, the Roman colony that laid the foundations of the city we know today. We will walk through the necropolis and discover how the deceased were honoured.
Next, we will delve into the impressive history of the Barcelona Cathedral , as we admire its majestic architecture, among mysterious gargoyles and colorful stained glass windows. We will walk through the historic Plaza del Rey and visit the palace that was once home to various rulers: Visigoths, caliphs, counts and kings.
As we delve into the charming Gothic Quarter , we'll learn about the legend of Saint Eulalia , one of Barcelona's patron saints, and discover the importance of Saint George in Catalan culture. We'll delight in the beauty of the Bishop's Bridge and walk around the remains of the Roman wall . We'll also explore the old Jewish quarter , a key piece in the rich history of this city.
After a 2-hour tour we will end at the famous Basilica of Santa María del Mar in the Born neighborhood.
