Free Tour of Chueca and Malasaña
Tour description
Berlin has Kreuzberg, London has Soho... and Madrid has these two sister neighborhoods.
Discover in our Free Tour of Chueca and Malasaña the rich history of the most alternative neighborhoods of the capital, famous throughout Spain for their LGTBI culture and their role in the countercultural movements of the 80s that led to the so-called Movida Madrileña.
We will start in the Plaza de Chueca, the heart of the Spanish neighborhood most linked to the LGTBI community.
Our next stop will be the Madrid History Museum. We will admire its impressive baroque façade before heading towards Fuencarral street, one of the most dynamic streets in the city.
The walk will take us to the Plaza del Dos de Mayo, the vibrant epicenter of Malasaña. Very close to here are some historic bars that were crucial in the Movida Madrileña of the 80s.
After two hours of discoveries we will end the visit in the Plaza de Santa María de Soledad Torres y Acosta... although everyone knows it as Plaza de la Luna.
Don't miss the opportunity to explore the most alternative Madrid on our Free Tour of Chueca and Malasaña!
