¡Discover the Sacred City! Walking tour Cholula city heritage alive.
Tour description
Discover with me Cholula City's history. It is located in the central-western part of the state of Puebla, and just 30 min away from downtown. It was founded in 500 B.C. making it one of the oldest living populations in America.
In this Magical Town, the great symbols of two cultures coexist a few meters away: the Great Pyramid Tlalchihualtepetl and the former Franciscan convent of San Gabriel, one of the oldest convents in America. The Lienzo Quauhquechollan, declared World Heritage by UNESCO, is included in the Regional Register of the Memory of the World Programme. So many more places and activities the city has to offer are waiting for you.
We will start in the Plaza of Concordia, then we'll visit the former convent of San Gabriel, its ancient trees, and the chapel of the natives. We will walk through its colonial streets. We will see the Pyramid, and walk up the hill to the sanctuary of the Virgin of Remedies to observe the geography from there. Finally, we will close the tour in the Cholula market where I will give you final recommendations.
