Born in Eastern Europe and having moved to Canada as a teenager, my passion for football ignited after watching the 1994 World Cup. In Canada, I became deeply involved with the Toronto FC supporter culture and followed the Italian league closely. Moving to Berlin has been an incredible experience, allowing me to explore the city's rich history, diverse culture, and vibrant football scene dating back to 1888. I love sharing my enthusiasm for football and history with friends and visitors, making every tour an engaging and memorable experience.
Beyond the Game: Exploring Berlin Through Football Culture
Berlin may not be home to football’s biggest powerhouses chasing European or German titles, but football culture is about much more than just trophies. It’s about passion, community, and history. And here in Berlin, there’s plenty of that to go around.
Explore Berlin’s dynamic history through its football culture on this walking tour. Trace the role of football in East and West Berlin, from establishment of Hertha Berlin to GDR’s teams legacy and beyond. Perfect for sports fans and history enthusiasts alike, lace up your walking shoes and join us to see how the beautiful game helped shape one of Europe’s most fascinating cities.
Don't worry if you call it football or soccer or don´t know much about the sport; I aim to make this walk enjoyable and informative for everyone
