The dark side of Rome's history (Jewish Quarter, Campo de'Fiori, and much more....!)
Tour description
" A lifetime is not enough to know Rome " because the history of Rome never ends, it always surprises, even those who know it have something more to discover.... The long life of the city is dotted with tragic events , many of which have gone down in history or have changed their course.
We will visit places where Roman life and daily life took place in different periods, and where practically there was no square or open space in the city that did not become the scene of crimes, torture and "application of justice" , which makes that everything is magnified to unsuspected levels.
We will go to places that provide a deeper knowledge of a heritage that, in its immensity and totality, often escapes the Romans and visitors... A Rome eternally accompanied by its dark side, with its unimaginable, surprising shadows .
We will begin by visiting the Tarpeian Rock , place of execution of murderers and traitors. We will walk next to the Marcello Theater , Temple of Apollo and the Portico of Ottavia , to reach the Jewish Quarter , in the past the ghetto, where the Plaza 16 October 1943 , the Synagogue, Piazza Giudea is located. We will arrive at the Turtle Fountain, Campo de Fiori, the Palace of Monte di Pietà , Farnese Palace, Via Giulia. We finished at Ponte Sisto , with lovely views of the Tiber Island and the Dome of San Pietro.
